Making Creativity a Habit

Teachers as Scholars is delighted to announce a  special course offering for 2024.

MAKING CREATIVITY A HABIT
A Two-Day Workshop

Description: Do you long for more self-expression, art, and color in your life? Would you like creativity to become a habit, but you don’t know where to start? Do you doubt your artistic skills, or do you think you don’t have any artistic skills at all?

In this 2-day workshop, Katia Wish invites you to develop a new habit – a creativity habit – that you can bring back into your life and into your classroom. Through a variety of quick, expressive, and fun exercises, you will explore different elements of art such as shape, color, space, form, line, value, and texture. You will fill up a whole sketchbook/folder and try a variety of techniques and supplies. Some projects will be more traditional, such as drawing in colored pencils or markers, or painting with watercolor. Some will be more experimental, such as collage with found objects, paint blots/stamping/splatter, and working with silhouettes in black and white. You will feel inspired, energized, and fearless towards your artmaking.

Requirements: Curiosity, leaving your fear of art at the door, openness to the art of your 5-year-old self.

Tuition Cost: This special offering is not covered by regular TAS membership. The tuition is $320, paid by the participant or, where the opportunity exists, by the participant’s school with a Purchase Order. TAS will also accept payment by Venmo or personal check. Payment will secure your seat in your selected workshop. All but $20 of your tuition can be refunded with two weeks notice.
