Most TAS seminars meet at the Cambridge Center for Adult Education (CCAE), which has two adjacent locations: 42 and 56 Brattle Street. Our emails before class will include the exact location of your seminar.

Travel: To get to Cambridge, leave plenty of time, as the commute often takes longer than you think. We begin at 9:30. If you are going to be late by more than 10 minutes, email or text Mary or Henry to let them know, and then relax. You get there when you get there.

MBTA: CCAE is accessible via the Red Line or bus routes to Harvard Square. CCAE is a 5 minute walk from the Harvard Square stop on the Red Line.

Street Parking: We do not recommend trying to find a metered parking space in the Square–meters are scarce, meter police are vigilant, and fines are hefty–a bad way to end your time with us.

Discounted Parking: We have an arrangement with University Place Garage at 45 University Road that offers TAS participants a parking discount: $14 or $15 for the day. It’s a 4 minute walk to CCAE.

There are three ways to obtain the parking discount:

1) Reserve through SpotHero (ideally, the day before). Go to this link and enter 45 University Road, Cambridge, MA. This will cost $15 plus a 99-cent service fee.

Note: Reserve your parking space from 8:00am – 4:00pm to allow yourself plenty of time on each side of the seminar. If you arrive earlier or leave later than the time slot you reserve, you will get charged extra.

Also note: I’ve learned from experience to screenshot the parking barcode once I’ve purchased the ticket. There is no reception in the garage.

2) Same as above, but use ParkWhiz, which may have availability after SpotHero fills. Go to this link and follow directions above.

3) Park in University Place Garage. Go to the garage office to buy your $14 ticket to use when you exit the garage at the end of the day. Inform the attendant at the garage office that you are participating in Teachers as Scholars. Note: The garage office closes at 3:00, so you need to purchase your ticket after you park in the morning.
